The Gathering is a Christian, not-for profit organisation. The Gathering has been operational for over 10 years, servicing the Litchfield Shire.
The main service offered by The Gathering is providing food to those in need; however the organisation also, perform a variety of social work and network relevant organisations to provide counselling, mediation and other services.
The Gathering has a holistic approach to clientele, and provided services to over 4000 clients in the 2010-11 financial year (On an average a client represents a family of 2 adults and 2 children).
The Gathering has various sub-group that act autonomously as detailed by the Gathering constitution.
All events open and close in prayer giving glory to the Lord for his continual provision.
The basic objectives of The Gathering are:
a) To glorify the Lord Jesus Christ
b) To promote Christianity and fellowship to all
c) To promote Christian ministries, practical workings of the church and promoting Christians in business
d) To encourage unity among Christians of different denominations who believe in biblical truths, and celebrate the fundamental beliefs that bring people together as one
e) To encourage sharing, love and fun between people
f) To reach out to the whole community, caring for their needs in accordance with biblical principles.
